Do not trust other reviews

I love this item. Much better than the flat blues. Oh and as for other reviews it does NOT stink and it is NOT sticky it is silicone and like other silicone things it has a different texture as far as the dust that can settle on it is nothing a wet sponge doesn't care. Not only that, I EVER wipe down my area with isopropyl before starting a project.

Perfect for working with PC components

I bought this to help me disassemble my 3090 to replace the thermal pads and it worked like clockwork. He likes to roll back a bit, but either the clamps or just something with some weight is easy to fix. The lining is thick too and considering my 3090 is performing better than before this was clearly a good choice.

This is a true ESD dissipative mat. Take it!

I have an ESD mat conductivity tester that checks the ESD mat for proper conductivity. I installed a soldering iron tip on it and held it there for 10 seconds, no damage. Light blue silicone mats do NOT dissipate ESD or protect against static electricity. DO NOT confuse them with the silicone-free blue ESD-Static Mats, which protect against static discharge but will melt if the tip of your soldering iron touches them. No sparks! on repair kits

I needed to put a new SSD in my MacBook Air so I definitely didn't want a spark! This anti-static mat worked great. It also has handy little sections with walls for attaching screws so I didn't lose anything. Well I dropped a tiny screw on the carpet under the chair but it was my fault for putting it on the table top instead of the carpet. I hope I never need this rug again, but if I do I'm very glad I have it!

It smells but it's great

When I first opened it you could smell the smoke-like chemical it was made from. After a few days it went away and is working fine. I've used it for soldering, and while the tiniest imperfections are due to excessive heat, it's relatively stable. I use it to hold screws when working on small projects and the little "cups" on top are perfect and overall I have no other issues with it.
