No, do not buy if you think it is what it says it is. Not 1 inch in diameter but 1/2 inch. Didn't work, waste of money and time. Really false advertising at best.

This rod does not fit the fan I bought with it! You would assume that if a fan manufacturer sold you a pole for one, it would fit! Wrong guess!

This bottom bar was recommended for the fan I ordered and was wrong. It was the right size so all I had to do was go to my local store and get it for work. Not sure why this is being offered with a fan that doesn't fit, but it was really annoying!

I purchased a 12" Emerson Bronze Ceiling Pole but decided it looked too short for my vaulted ceiling. I like the overall look of the fan with the matching 18" Emerson bronze rod. Hanging the fan a little lower also helps move more air. This fan looks great in my large room. Be sure to purchase the matching lower bar from Emerson. I bought the bottom rod from Home Depo but it definitely didn't fit this ceiling fan.

I ordered this item to match the fan I bought. He was promoted to fans as needed. The final fan installed on my rebuild required a bottom stem and was only installed last week. The bottom shaft was only 1/2" instead of 3/4" like the fan. My contractor had to buy another pole. I'm sure the descending rod is fine and still in the original packaging, but I'm disappointed that I missed the return date and didn't use this item!

We bought an Emerson fan with light because it looked great in a friend's living room where there were many other lights to complement it. Other reviewers have said that light may not be the room's only source, but we found their rooms to be larger and it would have been nice to have our small breakfast room. Not true!
