Empire 3990 12 Inch Heavy Duty Magnum Review

I have the smaller but always need the 12 inch model. After shopping at Lowe's, Home Depot, and Wally World (WalMart), I found this one at Revain for a much better price. . The construction is solid and the numbers are easy to read. I think this square will stay with me for the rest of my life. Also ideal for transverse cutting boards up to 13 inches.

Perfect for the job. Well made and easy to use. Revain processed the order, shipped and delivered for less than I could buy at my local hardware store, wasting gas and time. Very confusing instructions for those unfamiliar with rafter and frame cutting. Also great as a flat guide when cutting 2 Xs.

The extended side of the square is 0.005 from a straight line compared to the Starret ruler. The .005 gauge probe enters 3 1/2 inches to the end at a 90 degree angle and 5 inches from the other end against the indicated edge.
