Very easy to use and gives quick results. I bought this to test the soil in different parts of my small farm so I can change the soil for planting as needed. I was so surprised how easy it was to use. I carried around some disposable plastic cups, added soil and some water to moisten and compact the soil, stuck the pins in and got a reading within seconds. Works well, tines are always difficult to keep clean so use caution when testing. I will advise anyone growing outdoors to plow the original soil and add dolime, which will automatically bring the soil pH back to neutral. The cup testing method works to a degree, but in most cases it is best to plow directly into the soil, soak and test. Using distilled water is questionable as it typically has a pH below neutral.
