only flat sole - no arched shoes

Although it looks like the picture, this product has one big flaw that deprives 4 stars - the location of the heel or its absence. DO NOT buy this if wearing it over shoes with a separate heel. I wear a size 10, I bought a size L and the heel of these shoes meets the arch of my shoes. There is no traction when walking on the heel of the shoe. I switched it to a firm soled boot and it works better just in the sense that it connects to the longer surface of the foot but not over the heel. Also…

Wear them and YOU WILL NOT SLIP

These ice grips are a godsend. During my first winter in Maine (2013), I fell off my husband's wheelchair ramp six times. I didn't even know these things existed until a friend told me about them. I used them for the first time three days ago and managed to remove an inch of ice from a 40 foot ramp without slipping! They attach easily and stay in place. Ideal traction for everyday ice hiking and heavy cycling

I live in New Hampshire where ice is very common throughout the winter. I have traction devices in my car all the time and have tried several different ones. I used to use microspikes for everything because they worked better than anything I've ever tried. However, they are heavier, scratch things when carried in a pocket/purse and are overkill unless you are climbing steep slopes etc. (not to mention they are much more expensive and require two hands to put on) . These Ice Grip traction units…

great for preventing winter falls!

This is a great option if you only need shoe grips occasionally. that's exactly what we need. We live on a hilltop in Colorado, a country with erratic snow. When it snows our driveway can get pretty slippery and it's handy to put something on and just get to work. Pros: 1) No need to buy a separate pair of boots or shoes, just for the days when it's really slick. I like this as a great money saving option for us as there is no reason to buy cleated bottom boots. This gives us confidence that we
