Not suitable for business people

Comes with no instructions - just a small piece of paper asking you to plug in the USB and process your POS. No! While the Revain description says it applies to MAC as well, the instructions were sparse for Windows as well. Absolute waste of my time and money. It's best to set up a PayPal business account and connect to one of their card readers.

Pros
  • Pleasing
Cons
  • Difficult to say

Cheap and works.

We needed a new card reader for our store; This is plugged in, installed on Windows 10 in less than 30 seconds and works great. You can't beat him for money. I just bought it but went for it because it promised reliability for over 1 million card reads. many only have 500,000. As it's brand new I can't speak to reliability, but it worked as intended out of the box.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Works very well as expected. This is a really neat little magnetic stripe reader that works over USB with no software requirements. Press the Shift key on your keyboard when you plug it in and when it tries to recognize you as a keyboard. Open Notepad or any other software, even Excel, and just swipe your finger across the screen. Your card and details will be filled in automatically - awesome!

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Requires Socket

EASy Magnetic Card Reader

I bought this card reader to see what information is stored on the magnetic strips on my credit cards. The reader is connected to the computer using a USB cable connected to the reader. The ZMY computer running Windows 10 recognized the device and installed it in seconds. You can scan into any program that accepts ASCII information. I read the scans in Notepad.IO, now I want to get a device that reads information about the chip.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Small but powerful card reader

Very easy to install, just plug and play. I'm using Windows 10. I plugged it into a USB port and bam, I immediately open a spreadsheet. Works fast, one swipe and numbers in one cell. (Obviously you need to analyze them). Very small which is good when traveling or have a mobile office. I've done manual input before, which is error-prone, so this little reader will not only increase my efficiency, but also greatly reduce errors.

Pros
  • Good Stuff
Cons
  • Damaged

Plug and play simplicity!

This is a great magazine reader, very simple and works as advertised. I've been getting a lot more gift cards lately and this device greatly reduces the time it takes to write down the gift card numbers. You simply connect the USB cable to your computer, swipe the card and the data will appear (make sure your computer's cursor is on the Excel file or whatever gift card analysis tool you are using). I'm using Mac OS High Sierra and it worked fine. When I first plugged in the reader, a screen…

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Reads magnetic strips quickly and clearly

I bought this unit to replace an old PS2 reader that has failed. I needed a reader that could be easily reprogrammed so my existing software (which I developed myself) would continue to correctly analyze the resulting information. Fortunately, no changes were necessary. Since the device is USB based, it is much faster than the PS-2 device I used before (I had to slow down the PS-2 device's read speed to avoid character loss). I suspect that this device is not suitable for industrial use (i.e…

  • Excellent price
