Exact replacement for computer and accessories

The power supply on my desktop has smoked after over 4 years. Mainly because I moved into a new house with no carpeting. Dust and cat hair move around freely. In the last 8 months I forgot to blow out my PC and the PSU fan bearing finally stopped spinning. The power supply clicked loudly with sparks and turned off the breaker in the basement right through my UPS. This is the first time for me. This power supply has met all my needs since installation, so I bought the exact same model to replace

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Functionality

Very good power supply, but almost doesn't fit in the case

The power supply is limited in size in the mid-tower and the installation is a bit cramped. There is no leeway to align the mounting screws. I had to make a few bends in my case to get the screws in. The power cord is heavier and thicker than the others I think due to normal current draw for an 850w PSU. There were a lot of cables in the kit and the routing was fine but not up to date. CPU connectors are a problem when connecting. Overall I'm happy with my purchase, just a few hiccups on…

The power pack is built like a tank.

I bought the 850W version of this EVGA power supply in the special holiday sale for less than half the price, but even at full price it's a great power supply. 850 watts is too much for me, I don't need more than 450. The power supply is only idle and rarely blows even slightly warm air from the back. The modular nature of this device is great for reducing clutter in your PC case; You only connect the cables you need. Some of these cables could have been a little longer, but nothing tragically…

Made a loud bang and stopped working after two days.

After installing this PSU, it began to buzz. Aside from the noise, it worked. It worked for several days, then made a loud bang and stopped working. I went from a 650 watt unit that was still working to an 850 watt unit. I have a replacement from Revain. Hope it didn't fry my system? Not sure if I still trust this brand? We'll see when my replacement arrives. Update: I've decided to send back a replacement. I don't trust their Q/C. I was VERY lucky that this power supply didn't burn out my…

Great PSU - internal PSUs

Great PSU! My son bought a $450 graphics card for his computer and couldn't figure out why his computer suddenly restarted. It turned out that his old PS didn't have enough power to work with the new graphics card. I bought this PS for its value. It is modular and has many connections. It has the right amount of amps on the 12v rail. That's just incredible PS. Installed quickly and without problems! Has all the connections one could wish for! When buying PS you have to be careful and they…

Biggest PSU joke I've seen in 20 years

You must be kidding I bought this 850w to replace a 6 year old 1000w cooler, which still works fine. Just to get it and realize what a huge piece of junk it is. The 8-pin processor is very short. For the installation it took me almost half an hour to get to my 8th pin which is right next to the rear hub. The dual 4-pin CPU connector does NOT connect together, so it was very difficult to connect them with such a short cable. However, the biggest problem is NO MATCHING 8PIN GPU CONNECTORS! They…

If it cost you more than sticker price.

Oh! I bought a $100 PSU for my gaming system to replace a Corsair 1000w PSU that lasted 7 years. I thought EVGA was a good brand but now I'm not sure if I want to buy anything else from them. I treated myself to a good GPU. Now I'm just lucky that I had an i5 processor so I can still run a few screens after installing this PSU. He turned my favorite graphics card into a fried brick. No games, third screen or dual HDMI for me! The RMA process is complex and unsatisfactory. They let you pay for…

Decent power supply with partial modularity and steal on sale!

Bought this for $50 on Black Friday, couldn't be happier, a bit nervous about the rating as my rating was below platinum but got an extra 250w headroom for future upgrades. . And I wasn't even close to meeting Max. I'm only running 3770k at 3.7MHz with a Cryorig A40 AIO, 1070ti at 2025MHz, 7 fans, 4 SSDs and a HDD and the highest output I've seen testing is around 525W. It's just partly modular, but since the cables go to the motherboard/CPU and graphics card that you'll be using anyway, I…
