No SATA cable. Quiet idle, very loud noise with high TDP?

I have been using an EVGA power supply for 5 years: G2 and G3 series. It was time to upgrade my PSU, so I bought the G5 750. The first issue was that it didn't come with a SATA cable, which is just not acceptable unless he's supposed to have one. The second problem I discovered recently after a few days. Usage was due to an increase in fan speed (I estimate fan speed to be over 70% + very noticeable coil noise) after loading a graphics intensive game (~200w GPU usage. Vega 64). I'll see if the…

Really Heavy Coil Whine

Installation was very easy and the unit looks nice. The power supply is really stable and delivers enough power for my system, but there is a very loud coil whistle which is obvious and something is clearly wrong. UPDATE: I send the product back and get a new one, the spool error is smaller but still there. It's a bit louder than my old 600W Thermaltake, but manageable. The best thing about this product is the consistent power delivery and reliability that I paid for. with more performance at a

Reliable, compact and quiet

Received early October 2019 and works great! Installation was easy and there is a hardware switch to toggle eco mode on and off. Powers my components easily and comes with all the cables needed to mount and connect components to power. Time will tell how long this lasts, but my previous 650W EVGA PSU is over 5 years old and still works perfectly. As always when purchasing EVGA hardware, register your product to receive the full 10-year warranty. Hardware: Motherboard Asus X570 TUFRyzen 3700XGTX

4 DOA of 7 EVGA PSUs

Ordered 5 PSUs to build new units and upgrade the technology in our office. The first three builds with EVGA power supplies went well, but the next build faltered. Mobo could not get power. Did all the tests in the world, swapped the box, cellphone, processor - our PSU tests work fine on power, but the PG (Power Good) value is 50ms, and the cellphone won't boot when it does for security reasons in the range of 100 is -500 . Both remaining power supplies failed the PG test, and the next two…

Replaces a 10 year old 850 watt

My 850 watt power supply failed about 6 weeks ago, it suddenly turned off and on again. The computer was loaded with a game and suddenly the power cycled and restarted the computer. It was like getting a blue screen without the blue screen. Eventually it started to go really crazy, like a power outage, and then cycled on and off rapidly until I unplugged it. I figured it wasn't the motherboard or bad drivers or anything like that. I rebuild my car about every 3 years, but I haven't replaced the

EVGA quality but LOUD

This is a great power supply that does everything you want and need. However, when the fan turns on, it's LOUD. When this fan gets going, you can hear it from the next room. I pay close attention to temperature in an airflow-oriented case. My system is fully air-cooled with aggressive fan curves to keep temperatures down. Every month I do a general cleaning of my computer. Now that this is the case, my fans are still pretty quiet when running while I check my computer. This PSU is so loud it's…

Great PSU, just a little disappointment

I bought this PSU to replace the stock (250W) in my Lenovo Ideacentre 710-25ISH to support a GPU upgrade to GTX1650. I've seen and read several articles on PSU upgrades and have concluded that a higher powered, gold rated modular unit seems like a good choice. The EVGA blocks had good reviews so I quickly ordered and installed them. The EVGA power supply fitted easily into the rail and was bolted in place, and the included cables were solidly mounted using a quality wire harness. The fan is…

Lots of power, good for internals

My teenage son was converting his computer that I built for him many moons ago when he was a little boy. New processor. More drives/SSDs. Now a super duper graphics card. Eventually, the weakness of the original power supply overtook it and it couldn't handle all the stress. When he cranked the graphics up to the maximum, the machine gave up and shut down. Not enough power from the supposedly universal 600W PSU I put in there years ago. So we searched and searched for a power supply and finally

EVGA QC at record price

I have been with EVGA for a while but this will be my last purchase from the company. I bought an 850w G5 to replace my 650w G2. Installation was easy, cable quality was good (I'm not sure why they didn't include a 6-pin VGA cable with their power supplies, even though most of their cards have an 8-pin + 6-pin connector. For example, they have an 8-pin a cable with two detachable plugs.. a pin, but I don't want it hanging just in my case.) Generally to the point. coil whistle. This PSU has a…
