Works well - a few minor annoyances

My old laptop died and new laptops don't have CD/DVD drives anymore so I needed an external USB drive for my new laptop. It seems to work fine, although I didn't get to try the "Lightscribe" feature (one of the main reasons I chose this model) as I found that the Lightscribe software doesn't support Windows 10 and is designed to do that it can be folded onto the bottom of the suitcase, however this makes its length a bit short. Works as expected for external components

Ok, haven't fully used it yet; However, it runs without actual instructions. I plugged it in and it was seen and installed. When I started I had a question from Microsoft. I had no idea what to choose. I called and they came and looked and told me what to do. Played the CD with no problems. My light painter recognized it when I picked her up. Cheap. Might be worth a little fiddling.

So far I have used two lenses. The third just came out. First, there are two cables to connect to USB, one for data and some power, then the other for power. Don't try to use it without two cables. My USB port may be defective even though I've used it a couple of times and it's a brand new desktop computer. When I switched ports I finally managed to finish the Lightribe. I can't tell if it's the port because I only burned a Lightscribe disc. These tests only apply to the recording side of…

Add a drive that your new laptop doesn't have

When my 10-12 year old laptop started failing I bought a new laptop with Windows 10 much faster speed, more memory and storage space, but no. DVD drive. This was a problem for several reasons: I like archiving my photos onto DVD, I like burning my vinyl onto an audio CD, and I like using LightScribe disc labeling.
