Good yarn for twine & floss

This yarn is quite strong. It is not bulky, easily threads a needle, and has good stitching. It's not cheap but worth the price.

Pros
  • Strong construction
Cons
  • Something different

For heavy operating conditions. it is durable NYLON

Excellent NYLON sewing thread from Coats Leather Repair Thread. Repair jackets, shoes and wallets. Only $3.50 with free shipping for 150 yards of 3-ply nylon thread. Various colors are available. Use an 18 gauge needle.

Pros
  • Easy to read panel
Cons
  • String is shorter than other picks

great for repairing seats

I used this yarn to sew up the seat of an old snowmobile, the yarn is excellent. After sewing I attached the repair with vinyl glue and it is holding up very well. I really pulled on this thread and it's stiff yet flexible and easy to use.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • modern

This is a strong thread!

So many threads are labeled as strong, durable or in other terms that turn out to be useless. THIS IS A VERY POWERFUL THREAD. I tried to break it with my hands, it felt like it was cutting my hands like a wire. I don't know, maybe I'm a weakling with soft children's hands. :) Works well with the Speedy Stitcher 120 sewing awl with both a regular large needle and a fine 4-5 size smaller needle for the Speedy Stitcher.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Terrible thread and can't come back even though it's top notch!

Bought to sew thicker fabrics on a new sewing machine. There were terrible problems with the machine, which got lost in a bunch and even tied the thread on the needle itself. Got the car charged and refunded. Then, just out of curiosity, I threw another spool of thread on it without changing a single setting. works perfectly. Two more threads and no problems. but it's over and nothing but a mess after about 10 hits each time. Avoid it like the plague.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Some little things

Excellent quality yarn. Repairing jacket buttons etc.

Ideal for sewing on buttons or mending things like jeans. This thread will most likely outlive the refurbished item and now that there are no Woolworth stores left in the US (my son recently saw one in South Africa) there is nowhere close by to find these items. The town where I live doesn't have Walmarts or other stores to shop at, and the 99-cent stores, which now sell very few 99-cent items, don't sell strong cotton button yarn. In fact, all threads are made of thin polyester.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Expensive
