Universal Savings in Outdoor Accessories

I was pleased to see that the quality of this product is better than what some have stated in their reviews. I also wonder if some of these reviewers had problems with this splash screen because they were trying to use it with an engine that was too big. Installation took about an hour, mainly due to the time it took to remove a damaged homemade headband that the previous owner had welded on. It was pretty easy to install, you had to spend a few minutes trying to find the best spot for a good…

Best Tow and Winch Gear

Depending on your trailer you may need to make a bracket, the bracket supplied fits a different cross brace than the one on my trailer so I had to make and install one of my own. The Vee mount isn't the same shape as my 25hp 2-stroke, so you'll have to move the engine out of the way. Oh, the swivel on the trailer end was set correctly prior to welding, but after welding, the weld prevents the unit from rotating into position, so you have to enlarge and rotate the slot on the trailer mount to…

Very beautiful. for outdoor accessories

As another buyer said, this headband was about 2 inches too long for my boat and trailer. I just cut the main pipe two inches from the bottom rail and then re-drilled it. Voila. I have to point out that the instructions are really quite useless (hence the four stars). So you can command Revain to use "common sense". I believe common sense is an add on if you have prime and you can get free shipping too! ;) Arrived quickly. Looks really robust, but I use the screensaver even in the shortest…

Save your transom! Best in Tow Products and Winches

Just installed, let's see how it holds up. It seems well assembled but I would suggest replacing the screws. Used on a Tritoon trailer so using a mount was mandatory. The 5/16" screw used to attach the bracket is too small in both diameter and length in my opinion. I replaced the 4" 3/8-16 stainless steel hex head bolt and used stainless steel flat washers with a stainless steel locknut. Also, all 5/16 inch pipe bolts have been replaced with stainless steel bolts, locknuts and washers to keep…

The product fails in the area of the intended bending!

I bought this because the stock transom plugs were too short for my boat/trailer. I saw a review that said this product was bent and warped in the middle and I bought it anyway. I figured (since there were good reviews) that this wouldn't happen to me. guess what happened! It failed on the third outing and bent in the same area as the previous poor review. The design just lends itself to it with the heavy motor (my Yamaha 225) and all the street vibes and the pipes are pretty thin. I would not…

Good but not great. Should definitely help you with the trailer.

Installation was easy and took about 25 minutes of physical labor and setup. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because I had to go to the hardware store and buy a longer bolt (5/16 x 4) to install the bottom bracket. It came with a 5/16x3 inch screw. Didn't fit my frame. Also, after installation, the arm still wobbles even when the outboard is lowered into the V-trough and secured with straps. The bars don't fit exactly, but I'm just guessing the lever needs a little play. It also keeps my…

Ideal for my application

Before ordering this option from Revain I looked at several options for a rear guard. I'm very glad I decided to stay in this unit. I made a few modifications and now I have a rig that fits my boat perfectly. Some of the feedback was about the engine stalling when using this unit. I solved this problem by replacing one of the 5/16" bolts with a 5/16" eyebolt and using a second EPDM tape. I have now driven almost 300 miles with this rig with a trailer and it holds my outboard securely in place…

Great price, poor fit of components.

Love the idea of this mount, the angled design and half twist setup is perfect for my Shoreland'r scooter which has the crossbar a decent distance under the boat, 52 inches from the motor trailer position to the crossbar. Pros: *Adjustable to a variety of lengths.*3 mid-sections are nice thick wall tubing, and 3 end sections (V, reel mount, swivel mount) are one-piece rodboat. *Swivel mount is quick and easy * Impressively low price * Took less than 5 to assemble Minutes Large Negative: There…
