Depending on your trailer you may need to make a bracket, the bracket supplied fits a different cross brace than the one on my trailer so I had to make and install one of my own. Just installed, let's see how it holds up. It seems well assembled but I would suggest replacing the screws. Used on a Tritoon trailer so using a mount was mandatory. The 5/16" screw used to attach the bracket is too small in both diameter and length in my opinion. I replaced the 4" 3/8-16 stainless steel hex head bolt and used stainless steel flat washers with a stainless steel locknut. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because I had to go to the hardware store and buy a longer bolt (5/16 x 4) to install the bottom bracket. It came with a 5/16x3 inch screw. Didn't fit my frame. Before ordering this option from Revain I looked at several options for a rear guard. I'm very glad I decided to stay in this unit. I made a few modifications and now I have a rig that fits my boat perfectly. Some of the feedback was about the engine stalling when using this unit.
