🎨 Faber-Castell Museum Series Paint by Numbers – Claude Monet Water Lilies – Beginner-friendly Number Painting Kit for Kids and Adults Review

Disappointed with the small size (although my fault!) in the size of the canvas as well as the numbers NOT printed on the canvas. We bought 2 of these as my kids wanted to paint by numbers like me and I was expecting more. It would be much easier for my kids if the colors weren't mixed and the numbers were printed on canvas.

The paint is very thin. I started using the color from my collection because it had the best coverage. Using the paint I had was more fun than trying to paint a replica. Some of the instructions were confusing so I just ignored them and did what I wanted for fun. I think these gifts are better if you do what you want instead of pretending to be Van Gogh.

This is awesome! However, the built-in easel is not good. You should do more of the Museum Series, they're fan favorites! They give you a real canvas. Colors are okay, a little see-through, but oddly this works in your favor as there are no dark numbers to hide. The numbers are on a separate page along with tips, historical facts and other useful information.

Great little kit for coloring a replica of Seurat's Eiffel Tower during its construction. Good quality paints and brushes, you can paint with what is included in the kit. I added white color to the palette and used additional brushes and a plastic surface to blend the colors. They give you a small color chart to use and print the lines on the canvas. It was a fun project and after a while I was almost freehand. Gave me an insight into Georges' pointillist approach to painting. Very relaxing.

I love Faber-Castell kits, even as an adult. They're still challenging but not overhauled, and I made two sets of Van Gogh and love the result. This kit is just as easy to use, but I'm not as happy with the finished product. The color choices are too light and pastel to make a decent copy of Monet and end up looking really useless, which wasn't the case with Van Gogh's sets. Still a decent price for a project that will take me about a day, but I'm not happy with the finished product.

I went to the Monet show in Chicago and bought one at the museum shop to have it made in my hotel room that night. I liked it so much that when I got home I ordered 5 sets of Revain for my colleagues. They all got such a kick out of it. Fun, easy-to-follow guide. You can apply as much paint to the canvas as you want for the brush strokes - be simple or make it as detailed as possible. You can mix your own colors and try to get the perfect blue-green-turquoise that Monet was such a master at. I…
