FarBoat Vernier Portable Measurement Tool: Precise and Convenient Measuring Solution Review

This is not an accurate measuring tool. Supplied in a thin plastic sleeve with a "Made in China" tag. "Made in Germany" is engraved on the case back. There is no marking on the top for reading internal measurements in English units. I had to make my own sign for this. It can only be used for quick, approximate inside and outside measurements, but not for accurate measurements.

Aside from being difficult to read (can be repaired with nail polish or black paint, apply and then wipe to keep it in the crevices) there is no indication that the measurement is internal is or the outside diameter is set to zero, which is a problem when the ID doesn't have a zero mark and you're measuring something. Accurate, made of brass, the markings are stamped not printed which is amazing. Machining could have been a little smoother as the slider body was milled to look like a 1/4" end mill. Again, using gun oil can help it run smoother. Handy for quickly measuring the thickness of material, sometimes less than 4 inches long. That's probably just me, but I think the caliper is a bit more accurate on the metric part.
