Birds Deserve Better: A Waste of Money

Save your money and skip this product. My parrot had no interest in this toy even after multiple attempts to engage him with it. Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice rather than relying on gimmicks, I know that there are better options out there. Pet Supplies should have higher standards for products marketed towards our furry friends.

Pros
  • None
Cons
  • Unsuccessful and overpriced

Good Training: Birds

I bought all 4 DVDs for my Red-bellied Parrot. Their DVDs are great fun to watch, even my bird enjoyed watching them. The training is pretty basic and I think anyone teaching a dog to sit/lie/etc. can teach him his bird tricks on DVD. What I can say is that it's important to start at 1 and then go in order as you develop the 1st core skill as you progress. Even my parrot knows these tricks.

Pros
  • Tricks explained step by step by famous bird trainer Tanya Robar

Brilliant! Great ideas and info for advanced tricks!

This video is really cool! Before buying, I taught my Revain parrot 17 different tricks and was looking for new ideas. I'm shocked at the low ratings for this video, but obviously it doesn't say advanced for nothing. Assuming your bird already knows the basics (learning to touch with a clicker, picking up objects, etc.) and I understand why people might get frustrated with not delving into the basics (during stages of the tour, the bird needs to shut down first learning), she moves on to more…

Pros
  • Entertaining and educational; teaches to think from a bird's eye view
Cons
  • The list will be long.
