Poor quality tools but good quality digitizer

My kids smashed an old iPad Air - the screen was completely shattered - and I decided to fix it myself. I'm pretty tech savvy but had never replaced an iPad screen up to this point so I took the kids a day and tried to fix it myself. A few notes about this set: - The tools are not the best tools in the world. The suction cup is too small and weak to be useful. I ended up just breaking the glass to get the digitizer. Of course, this leaves splinters of glass on the LCD which will scratch the LCD

  • Comes complete with home button, camera mount and pre-applied adhesive making installation much easier.

  • Out of fashion

The do-it-yourself iPad repair was a success. a second time.

Pros: The Feiyue screen replacement worked as intended on our 1st Gen iPad Air. Better tool set that came with this set than the first one I bought from another seller. The tape is already attached to the screen. Prompt delivery on time. $ saved on in-store repairs. Cons: There are no instructions, not even online. This also applies to a screen replacement from another vendor that I first bought and when trying to remove the tape after attaching the cables I ripped one of the tapes - DO NOT DO…

Requires two people for digitizer

Update: 2/23/20 I was able to get a replacement battery at the Apple Store for $99. Our repair work was of sufficient quality to pass an Apple Store review and qualify for $99 battery service. Please note that after the repair we continued to have intermittent issues with LTE and the iPad had occasional crashing issues. We can't say for sure that this is due to the screen replacement, but we think so. The new iPad is great. We were able to install it and the 1st gen iPad Air worked great after…
