. The problem for me is that my heads have water holes on both ends, but the intake manifold doesn't. The dead head water connection deformed the normal seals and I took water in a cylinder. So far it has held up with no leaks. It also fits much better than the standard 351-W part number.

The 'seal seal', a specially printed elastomeric ring around the ports, is only on the side of the manifold. What what!? Yes, indeed we were. The back of these pads is coated with some sort of waxy substance, eliminating the need to use silicone (because it's non-sticky). Additionally, if used on really smooth aluminum heads, there can be a problem with water leakage as the wax has a hard time sticking to very smooth surfaces. According to Fel-Pro this 1250S-3 fits the 1966 289 series head, but they are wrong. The holes in the water jacket are so large that they cover the edge of the machined surface of the head. They also include heat rise plugs, but there is no heat rise hole in the seals. Do they expect you to cut the hole yourself to use the plug? I got MS 90103-1 from my local parts store and it fits much better. As it should be, these other Fel-Pro pads have a heat riser hole, but they don't come with blocking…

Used to fix a typical SBF coolant leak from the front driver's side. The original fiber seal is crushed after re-tightening to reduce leakage a second time. Fel-Pro 1250S3 Manifold Gasket Kit.
