This seal is not manufactured correctly.

At least one reviewer mentioned that the gasket was done upside down/upside down. Well I thought he made a mistake, maybe due to inexperience or a mistake. But I was wrong! The seal is upside down. I installed it anyway because the box says "non-refundable if opened". I don't know if it's still leaking because I have other work to do on the car. But I will write to Fel Pro to get their opinion. I sealed the valve cover but.

Recently bought a '92 Escort with 1.9 liter engine. that after 100,000 original kilometers the factory valve cover gasket was no longer tight and oil was leaking onto the exhaust manifold. This set of gaskets and bushings sealed the old engine. I'm splicing the star because while it works, it looked like it was turned upside down. It will fit and seal

This gasket kit will fit the following Ford SOHC (single overhead camshaft): 1.9 liter engines (1991-1996) in the Ford Escort, Mercury Tracer and some early Ford Focus . I agree with other reviewers as the seal looks like it has the ribs on its head. The original (factory) gasket was black silicone rubber and was ripped up into the groove on the valve cover only on the side; the other side (facing the cylinder head) was flat.
