NOT fits STI 2011+

The rear wiring harness needs to be cut, it's still hanging and doesn't look like it came from the factory. It will take a lot of cutting and custom fabrication to achieve a flush look. Installation is easy, longer wires can be used. Simply red to + and black to -. I connected both the light and camera to the reversing lights so the light and camera turn on together. During the day the picture is quite good, at night I have not tried it. Update: So the camera is NOT waterproof. After a heavy…

Factory assembled, many cables.

I wanted a backup camera for my 2012 WRX but didn't like the way some of those crappy license plate frames looked. Found this on Revain and added it to my cart after seeing how well it looks on other cars. The picture is ok, not great, but it works well for what I paid for it. I had to change the license plate wiring a bit. I had to cut one of the bulbs out of the wiring to fit properly. Worst case scenario, you'll have to order license plate lights and change a pair. For now I don't think I'll

The installation process requires no drilling and is pathetic.

Wires are very thin and short making installation difficult. Additionally, my car (Subaru Forester) didn't have a way to route the cables to the camera, so I had to drill a hole big enough to fit the bulky connectors. The chamber is advertised as requiring no drilling. The LEDs do not match the color of the standard license plate light. There was so little cable that I ran out of splice wire and got too close to the connector, rendering the camera output completely unusable. Now I have to order

2006 Dodge charger to fit cars and automotive electronics

I actually installed this on a 2006 Dodge charger. This camera comes directly from China, so it takes about 2 weeks for delivery. The instructions are entirely in Chinese. However, the installation is self-explanatory, but use the translation app if you need instructions. I've read reviews that it's not fully "waterproof". Whether it's true or not, I plasticized the bottom of the camera. I used longer 10x1 screws to mount the charger. As for the camera, I wish it didn't have built-in parking…

Good camera for car electronics

The only complaint about this camera is the lack of instructions for it. Without the YouTube video for my exact car model, the installation would have been very difficult. The license plate light on my car is independent of positive and negative signals, but the camera light is. Once this was fixed and connected to the reversing lights, the camera only worked when the camera icon on the head unit was activated. In order for the camera to work as intended, you need to run another cable from the…

Great for the price.

Good camera for the price. I've had it running for a year now with no problems. I have an Outback station wagon and have found that when it rains the lens gets covered in water. This is a common problem with rear cameras in general, so I don't blame any particular camera for this. Picture quality on the factory navigation screen is decent. Definitely good enough to get back into parking spots or hitch my trailer. Night vision is acceptable, but bright backup lights help me. It's pretty grainy…

Good camera - car electronics

Installed on my daughter's 2011 Subaru Outback. It replaced the left license plate light and required no external openings. It looks like a factory setting. I drilled a hole in the inner panel for easier guidance. I sealed the hole with plugs and silicone. To get through the rear deck all panels had to be removed. There are a few hidden screws under the small extra panels, and the rest just pull out. The reverse light wiring is easy to connect as it is on the deck. I routed the cable through…

Pros
  • I like everything so far

  • Definitely bad product

That works great. Best in Automotive Safety

Installed yesterday. (On my 2009 Impreza 5 speed sedan) I had to shave off the yellow RCA connector to get it through a small hole behind the trim panel on the trunk. I just shaved off a piece of plastic with a razor blade. Not a big deal but they could have used one that wasn't that thick I guess. Pulling out the license plate light is a bit of a hassle, you have to turn off the light and then use a screwdriver to pry off the metal pieces that the bulb is in because they are crimped onto the…
