Better than I expected

These tie rods are not pro quality but for the average DIYer they are great for me. The bars aren't too rigid, allowing them to go around obstacles. The male and female threaded ends seem to be firmly connected to the fiberglass rods even after they got stuck and I had to pull the rods very hard to loosen them. 5 lures is a great feature and as there are 10 rod sections you can even make up some short pulls using different lures to avoid the inevitable tricky pulls.

Don't do it!: Fish Tape

I install low voltage systems, cameras, data grids, smart homes, etc. I've had a set of Harbor Freight poles for years I've left them at work, away!. I bought them to replace them, try something else, what can I say, they are pure junk, I mean the worst, I only use them for Cat5/Cat6 or RG6 fishing in awkward spots, 2 of which are broke where they connect. , another brass rod drawn, USELESS! Straight into the urn. I bought another set from Harbor Freight and I'm back in business. They may be…

Boeray enjoys cable management and retrieval tools

I used fish tape to route coax cable through a cable tray under my RV. It worked very well but I have to question the durability of the tensioners. I don't think it's made for commercial use, but it seems fine for casual use. I used a cable loop tensioner and the cable loops were already kinked. It doesn't seem to have compromised the loop yet. In my application, accessibility was poor and the bars had to be springed almost to the max, but they worked well. You lose some flexibility in the rods

Okay but there are errors

This worked fine for running cables through my interior walls. Easy to assemble and I liked all the extras they included to secure the wires, it was well thought out. My only complaint is that parts can come loose and get lost (if you're in a dark attic like me). The end loop I used to secure the cable eventually came loose and was lost. I only give it one star for that, but I can still recommend it. Also note that this won't work on insulated exterior walls (if you're trying to run cables…

Ideal tool for working with ethernet cables

This tool was perfect for my needs. I ran 100 feet of CAT8 ribbon cable between a router in one room, through the attic, and into a guest room that has now become a home office during a COVID-19 "work from home" event. To do this, I had to route the cable through an interior wall without insulation and an exterior wall with insulation. This was my first time doing this and it was a lot easier than I feared. I taped every connection of the bars as a precaution to ensure they wouldn't come loose…

Old school electricity teacher renovating a house.

Now that I'm retired and widowed I've decided to invest in a small townhouse to rent until I can't ranch anymore and then move to town. The house was built in 1958 and all had 2 outlets. I wanted to upgrade the house to three pin connectors and add some circuitry. I gave it a 3 rating for the following reasons: #1. All the bars bolt together - ONLY you can never attach 2 bars together unless you use a lock washer or seal the joint. The same with the last bracket. I was always afraid that the…
