    No headband for welding helmet

I am planning to make a custom welding hood and I really like this hood, just wish it had come with the headband pictured and not the helmet mount.

    Great product, fits welding helmets

Light weight, very easy to change lenses, hat already fitted, also comes with 10 tint lenses. Have had no problems and look forward to using many more years of welding with him!

    Pros
    • Good product for the price
    Cons
    • Not bad but...

    The headgear is rather weak

The hood is not bad, but the headgear doesn't stand up to any bullying. Fell apart while checking welding for work. Not that impressed. However, this is normal; Pretty easy to convert to a headjoint from my old Jackson

    Pros
    • Tools and household goods
    Cons
    • Expensive

Cheap plastic broke after a week.

I abused this hood model (made in the USA) for over three years before the flipper loop finally failed and the plastic broke. Bought to have it replaced and it took at least six days, the left side button cracked the hood rendering it completely unusable. I currently use my American made fiber metal tiger hood with a 4x4 Non-Flip, support your local welding consumables store and buy a quality hood that will stand up to all manner of rigors in the field.

    Pros
    • Personal Protective Equipment
    Cons
    • Long Lead Time

    Great but large hood

Provides excellent protection. As with other assembly pads we recommend that you trim the bottom and possibly the top a little if you wish, this will lighten the load and stop cutting your chest when you start welding. You can trim the inner lens pocket on the flap with a knife, file, or dremel to widen the gap for the ADF. I use a Lincoln 4C ADF 2x4 1/4 .35 thick and it fits in there with an outer lens, a spacer, then an ADF, with another outer lens on the back to protect it when I sand it…

    Pros
    • Head Guard
    Cons
    • Price
