I decided to buy this Finnex light for my 75 gallon tank. I love that it is 100% fully customizable. This allowed me to play around with some settings to figure out how much light my tank needed. 24/7 mode really saves lives; just set and forget! The remote control can be a bit finicky at times, but be patient and it really pays off!

I see a lot of feedback that setup is difficult. To these people... learn to read. The instructions are written so that a 5th grader can understand them. I think there are many people who are no smarter than a fifth grader 🤷🏼‍♂️It doesn't matter. This light is pretty cute. Much brighter than any other light I've tried and easy to set up. The only wish is that more than one can be synced together.

Very good light but the automatic 24/7 function is not very good. However, you can customize it. So if you're willing to put in the time, you can make it more suitable for a planted tank. The remote control and all of the programmable functions require considerable training, but they work. For timed use, just on or off, they're great and plants grow like crazy. I also managed to make the memory setting for 3 of my tanks a bit brighter and it remembers that setting every time it's turned on. All

I bought a 4ft block to illuminate a slightly shaded corner in a sunny room to give the plants in my garden a boost. I liked it so much that I bought a second one for my own use as an aquarium light. The conservatory is more like an outdoor lizard vivarium so I thought a 24/7 function would be nice to provide 'moonlight' to observe the nocturnal lizards or work there after the main lights have gone out. The ALC version is the best of any series Finnex has landed at face value. You can't get a better programmable light for the price. But these are limitations, not to say I wanted the 12:00 to 15:00 time off, that's doable, but the 3:00 to 6:00 slot doesn't work because for some reason at 5 :00 The light will turn on no matter what you set, PERIOD. Now back to the norm, at best in my 18" tank it's barely able to keep my dwarf plants alive. Well if your tank is shorter that might do the trick…
