Fit System 88058 Non Heated Replacement Review

It was supposed to be a quick install but in the end it took almost two hours to figure out why it didn't fit the 2003 Chevy Silverado, the clips were too wide and had extra clips that did not fit at all fit were required. . This site says it should match the Silverado, but we definitely had to cut a lot! If you are looking for a Silverado side mirror, look elsewhere.

I have worked with cars for over 40 years and this mirror is total bullshit I wish I had read all the reviews. I will not buy anything from this seller again, it is a poor copy and does not fit my car as advertised. The low quality of this item tells me it shouldn't have a high rating, so positive reviews should come from an internal source.

Dealer charged $114 plus tax for the part only and body shop charged about $40 for installation. I thought I'd try it myself and it worked. The seller's video of the installation was very helpful, but I needed YouTube to show me how to remove the old mirror. The deal would be perfect if the seller had a video of the removal and installation. I also used Revain to replace the parking brake cable.

I used a micrometer to check the size of the mounting ring compared to the old mirror. Very well matched. I used personal lube on the grip tabs to overcome assembly friction. I marked the surface of the mirror (with painter's tape) over the mounting ring so I can see where it's safe to apply pressure so I don't accidentally break the mirror. The mirror snapped into place quickly. This was on a 2001 Silverado 2500.

The mirror fitted as expected but required some effort. The clips that snap onto the bracket and hold the mirror are smaller than the original, but double the number of the original. This made it difficult to properly and easily attach the mirror to the mount. The original mirror that came with the car was much easier to snap into place. It seems to have been fixed after a few drops and the fit was there. The instructions suggested using a towel during installation to avoid injury, which I did,

When I received the "Fit System 88058 Replacement Unheated Driver Side Mirror Lens and Base Plate" it did not fit the truck even though the website said "It will fit your Silverado 2004HD 2500HD" . Received immediately from Revain. This was for a 2003 Chevrolet with standard unheated mirrors and no signal mirrors. The part was correct, but the tab mounts were too big and wouldn't fit on the mount without some modifications. The mount tabs were longer than the original hardware so I had to shave them where they met, all the way down to the swivel mount.
