Our hermit crab seems to like this sand. As soon as we put him in the cage, he burrowed in. However, I did notice a cancer and reproductive warning on the sandbag which is concerning as the hermit crab belongs to my child.

At first I thought it was great stuff because they dig in it and my crabs don't usually dig. Both of my hermit crabs died within days of use. I have had these guys for many years and I try to take care of my pets. I'm so sad. Please do not risk the health of your pets with this material! Other negative reviews said they had the same problem. A very sad result.

We bought three bags of this sand for my son's hermit crabs. After replacing the previous substrate with this sand, our three hermit crabs were visibly excited. All three started eating sand, digging in it, and all got even bigger shells. Before filling this sand, the crabs stayed buried all the time and only emerged at night. Now they seem much more active and happier. This sand must contain the minerals they need. We love it and will buy it again.
