I use this on my G3 Fluval canister filter, chemical filter and bio filter with AIO system and filter sock for good measure. Great for my sea water system. Easy to use, cheap and effective. Must buy

Works great when new but once clogged it's almost impossible to clean with the brush that comes with the Fluval g3. I've even used a toothbrush and it's still clogged up so I'm just saying it can't be reused, it's too expensive to be reusable.

I've been using this filter for almost three months now and it works great. I clean it about every 10 days and my usage stays at 100%. Update after 6 months of use. The filter still works fine but now I have to clean it every 5-6 days to keep 100% flow. It's still not bad.

This filter works well. I wear it for two to three weeks before having to take it out to clean it. Some say it clogs up after a few days. Possibly if your aquarium is very dirty as it is a fine filter used to polish the water. My aquarium is pretty clean so it will go all the way. I would buy it again if what I have cannot be cleaned anymore, which has not happened after 2 years of use.

The water in my planted aquarium wasn't as clean as I wanted, so I decided to try this filter instead of the white filter. It did not work. The flow decreased throughout the day requiring frequent cleaning and the water didn't seem much cleaner. I returned to the white filter. Ideally I would like to run a white filter in the first compartment and that filter in the second, but this configuration is not supported. Filters are only suitable for the first compartment.

This is a very good cartridge and cleans the water in my aquarium very well. I have a 40 gallon reef tank with a 10 gallon sump. Due to the capacity of the G3 filter I would only recommend the G3 or G6 for smaller aquariums. I use this filter to increase mechanical filtration in my system and also as a replacement for a Tri-Ex cartridge media reactor. I bought these to replace the original pre-filter cartridge and to experiment with their effect on water flow in a lightly planted tank using 2 packs of Flourite Black Sand as a substrate. Well after almost a month of use I haven't had any negative issues with clogging or slower flow rates. I can confirm that this cartridge is much better than the alternative version.
