🌼 FolkArt Yellow Ultra Dye - Pucker Up Shade (8 Ounce) - Assorted Colors Review

When I received my 2 vials of dye I was amazed at how small they were and thought I would definitely need more. I painted a ship style wooden wall with this material and it looks great. I applied 2 coats with one bottle. The wall was about 30 square meters.

I wanted to paint clothes. When it arrived and was told it was for firewood I thought what the heck. These are cool clothes and I'll see what happens. That was the color I wanted. My clothes were not dyed entirely to my liking and I was given Fit mandarins. To my surprise, this color turned out to be similar, and the result was a successful colorway for this outfit.

I've only tried basswood so far but I still have a nice rich colour. The problem is the cheap cardboard insert in the lid. It comes off and sticks to the neck of the bottle when you unscrew the cap. You have to take it off (get paint on your fingers) and put the cap back on every time you open it. I think I solved the problem by gluing the insert to the lid, but that shouldn't be a problem for the buyer to fix.

I used an alternative purple dye in my project that fades horribly in the sun. I took it and looked at it, desperately hoping it would fix the huge mess I had on my hands. Not only does it look 100 times better, it doesn't fade! I've been in the sun a few times and it hasn't faded. It also doesn't leave that horrible brownish metallic color. I also had no purple stains on the items I installed on the varnished wood. I'm really happy with this paint.

Works well when diluted with water. I used it undiluted at first, but the thickness made it difficult to apply and small cracks were difficult to fill without losing a lot. So I used a 1:1 ratio of dye to water and it made a big difference. Now it was very quick and easy to apply and quickly filled any gaps.
