I installed this hatch on the back of my BKC tandoor kayak. It was pretty easy. I bought a circular saw attachment for my drill and it worked great for drilling the circle in my yak. Although it says the inner circle is 6", I ended up using a 7" drill bit. From there I just attached the outside with waterproof silicone and bought some nuts and bolts. The ones included in the kit are too small and don't securely attach the hatch to the yak.

Easy installation, screws and gasket included. The locking mechanism is easy to operate with one hand and locks securely. Each lasted no more than ten minutes. Just to calm myself, I stood on it with both feet (I weigh about 200 pounds) before cutting holes in my kayak (Ocean Malibu 2 XL). I poured it into a coastal river and my local lake and didn't notice a significant leak. I would buy this product again and recommend it.

We have this to install on our kayak. The product is easy to install and can be installed in minutes with a jigsaw and a screwdriver. It works great for water entering from above, unfortunately the pocket underneath isn't waterproof and you can really see why it isn't, although in reality this type of waterproof fabric costs about the same as a non more waterproof. like on the sunroof.
