Very Happy with this stand but it does have limits

I bought this boom stand because I need portability. I do interior photography, portrait/fashion and food photography. I wanted a decent boom that was portable. I don’t need this to extend to the moon, I just need to get a light out in front of the camera or over an object, something other than a straight light stand. I paid more for a Wescott reflector holder and it is horrible, tightening down the stupid ballhead to the point I’m almost breaking the handle and you can still move the boom…

Pros
  • Excellent well built product.
Cons
  • Tend to wobble or sway, affecting photo quality

Too heavy for transport

A bit too cumbersome for my needs but the build quality is very good. Very stable and easy to adjust. I returned it. Electronics.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Can be challenging to level and balance on uneven surfaces

Solid performer good for me

Solid performer. Came with a bent screw. Other than that it works well. The sandbag is good but you will need extra weight on the legs for additional support. Would purchase again and recommended.

Pros
  • Good quality boom stand. Works well with a head light and a 60" octogonal softbox.
Cons
  • Assembly and disassembly is time-consuming

Excellent Stand. - my new review

Extremely high quality and versatile stand. You can trust the other reviews. This is well worth the money. Nothing better on Ebay for less than $200, imho.

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • Locking mechanisms can fail, causing the equipment to fall

Seems nicely built, but I had NO idea how to put it together and couldn't find anything online. Pull the top pole all the way out. Seems easy enough once you figure it out, but some instructions would be nice.

Pros
  • versatile and durable. definitely use the sandbags or ankle weights at the base.
Cons
  • Not suitable for small or cramped setups

No buyer remorse here!

Seldom does a product exceed my expectations; but this one does. This stand has strength and weight to handle large reflectors, but you will need a sand bag if a breeze is stirring.Light stands can be tossed in the trunk of a car without much care. However, I place this unit inside a box before piling it into the trunk. It has levers and joints that could be damaged if roughly used. There is a learning curve. Set aside some time to play with this boom stand before using it in a production…

Pros
  • Well made. Easy to setup and use. Highly recommend.
Cons
  • Needs extra counterweights for balance

Very adaptable light stand/boom accessory.

Low price, well built accessory adding a huge amount of flexibility when setting up a shot, especially with speedlights.

Pros
  • Lighting & Studio
Cons
  • The plastic grips on adjustment knobs can break or wear quickly

Pretty beefy on my review.

This stand appears to be well made, especially for the price. I've already had the opportunity to use it on several product shoots and a portrait shoot as a softbox/flash holder, and have briefly practiced using it to hold a reflector.I'll be sure to give an update if anything breaks, but so far the stand looks like it will hold up well.

Pros
  • Much easier to use then my old Boom stand and travel with.
Cons
  • Constructed with somewhat flimsy material

Highly recommended.

I am very, very impressed with how robust this stand is. I was worried that it would be flimsy but I was pleasantly surprised. This stand is a beast! Highly recommended.

Pros
  • 1 pounds
Cons
  • Not designed to hold heavy-duty cameras

Very solid stand - my new review

It's the Swiss Army knife of stands. Took me a little while to figure out how to attach everything (no instructions). This will hold a camera, a strobe, a studio flash, or a reflector. The stand is heavy duty, not for casually carrying around. You can probably attach several things to this at once.

Pros
  • Booms & Stands
Cons
  • Difficulties when adjusting for larger reflectors or cameras
