Franklin Sports Disc Golf Set Review

Easy to install and looks good. It catches discs pretty well since it's 100% plastic. Unfortunately, after only one round of throwing at a target, it is already broken. A NOTICE. I was using clubs, not screwdrivers, and apparently one of the washers hit and deformed the metal pin that expands and holds the top of the basket open. Extremely disappointed. Now I have to hold it open with duct tape. Well you get what you pay for I think.

Great for the price, fairly sturdy, stays upright even after a 30ft shot. Haven't played much yet but in my opinion the size is comparable to a regular basket but maybe a little short. Great way to exercise in your backyard (or anywhere). Update: I agree with other reviewers that the three discs in this set are of pretty poor quality. You are really flexible. But they're good enough for little ones and the basket is sturdy enough for me to practice those pesky 10 feet :-)

This is a great inexpensive solution even for serious gamers like me. Easy to set up, a bit flimsy but works. Plastic chains are the worst. They let the disc fly by if you don't hit it directly. I bought a spool of chain and cut it into short lengths, there is one steel chain for each plastic chain. I left out the plastic ones to hopefully mimic the real deal, which often has two layers of chain. I attached them with steel S hooks that I bent with pliers. So far, so good. This is a great option for playing in the garden or more. We took a couple of these to play on the field and practice in the yard and I was more than happy with the price. I am returning this basket because it is pretty bad at catching golf discs thrown from about 40-50 feet or more. Chains are single-layer, made of lightweight plastic. Many shots fired with some force and hitting the chains fairly well still fly/spit. This can still be perfectly acceptable depending on your conditions: still very useful in that sense.
