Can be very dangerous

Saw at ATK and bought anticipating fenders on the 4th 12" and 10". I followed the instructions for use exactly as written. Placed in my 12" Cast Iron Lodge Pan. There was a small spot where the refractory wall didn't stay in contact with the pan. The instructions said to flatten it out with a spoon, which I did. Again and again. About 15 minutes later. When frying and flattening the spot with a spoon, all the rust fell into the hot oil, splashing oil everywhere, creating a complicated and messy

Do not give up! Read the instructions!

I was very happy with this product when I saw the video. My beautiful Viking oven is a PITA that needs cleaning. When the package arrived, I opened it immediately. Only to be devastated that it ended up being about 2 inches too big for my pans! (See Fig. #1) How could that be?! I have mesured! "Of course it must be defective, I noticed the instructions on the back of the box. I read them carefully and tried again. Voila! It fits perfectly. It's like magic. (See photo #2). So I fell in love with

Expensive but good product.

I love this product. It paired perfectly with my cast iron skillet and eliminated splatter when sautéing onions for spaghetti sauce. When you make spaghetti sauce, the tomatoes jump and splatter as well, but the wall was high enough that there were no splatters at all on my stovetop. Please note that it is ONLY suitable for the pan specified on the packaging. Don't think you can "fit" a pan it wasn't designed for. BUT after seeing the product I can't believe it cost almost $30! Serious? I hope…

Frywall - no more ugly spatters!

I don't fry often and hate frying because of the mess I have to clean up afterwards. When I fry food I usually make it worthwhile because of the cleaning. This freewall is amazing. Make sure you have a pan with sloping sides, not vertical ones. It takes a few minutes at first, but once you know how to do it, there won't be any problems. The only problem is that if you want to fry a lot at once and change the oil, you have to remove the apron to do so. It's quite big and flexible (silicone) when

Diskette. Keeps falling apart.

Just avoid it or risk it not fitting in your pan. I bought a 12" Frywall for my 12" All-Clad pan. Easy enough right? Not really. I followed all the instructions but it doesn't fit neatly and pretty. It does not maintain its circular shape as advertised as it is EXTREMELY flexible. Again, it's as flexible as it gets, and difficult to maintain a round shape when placed in a pot. It "fitted" my pan in the end, but I've found that it's not quite perfect. He was there, but I had my doubts. The rim…

Away with the splashes! Leave!

BENEFITS: • Very effective at catching grease and splatters, preventing messes on stovetops, worktops and floors when cooking/sautéing with vegetable oil or sauces, especially bacon • No need for a splatter cap that can cause damage on the pan as more heat is retained inside • Dramatically reduces cleaning time • Splatter guard, although flexible silicone, is strong enough to hold a spatula (at least plastic) inside without dislodging the bottom edges of the guard • Guard vor splash is flexible

  • Absolutely amazing!

  • Good overall, but...

It stopped me from giving up cast iron cooking!

I'm new to cast iron frying. I've been cooking for over 30 years but I didn't grow up with cast iron so I never learned how to use it. I've always used triple stainless steel and some Kalfalon nonstick. Because of this, I didn't like the idea of not washing the dishes and was afraid that it would remain seasoned. But there are plenty of recipes that recommend cast iron, and I finally decided to take the plunge. So when I got my cast iron skillet. I was happy and angry at the same time. Cooking…

Great idea but very disappointed

Not only is my stovetop greasy every time I fry something, but the floor around my stovetop is greasy and I have to mop the floor every time! I tried everything I could think of to avoid wiping the kitchen floor while frying something, including putting large towels on the bottom of the stove, but the grease always ended up on the floor one way or another. I was so excited when I saw this product! I don't give a damn about the fat on the stove. I'm only interested in the fat on the floor. So…
