It works as expected.

So my builder used a different brand and they died after owning the house for a few years. I went to Home Depot and was surprised to learn that they don't even sell T5 ballasts. I ordered them, took pictures of how the old one was connected and then went ahead and rewired. I will mention that the wiring was different, but the instructions and these photos allowed me to set it up properly. Arrived with no problems, has been working for several months!

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Doubt

Good price and design

Works well as a replacement for other ballasts for two F8T5 tubes. I appreciated the long connector wires so no wire splicing was required. The price of this item is good. The metal case must be grounded, but no ground wire is provided. The compact size made it much easier to fit into an existing mount. I'd buy more to have on hand as several under cabinet lights in my kitchen use a similar ballast and these guys are leaving in a hurry to switch to LED lighting.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Good price, good fit, reliable

I bought one of these about three years ago to replace a faulty ballast in an under cabinet light in my kitchen. I was a little worried about the fit as I only had about 1 inch of thickness in the mount and couldn't find the measurements on the Revain. I found the sizes on one of the manufacturer's sites and bought them. Based on my tape measure, it's only less than 1 inch thick. The ballast worked so well that last year when another ballast from the manufacturer failed I ordered three. Easy…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Empty

The old magnetic ballast in the 2-lamp T8F5 and T13F5 under the kitchen cabinet is a bit dusty. The device also used separate starters. The lamp had a separate ballast and starter for each lamp. I bought this electronic starter which replaces both ballasts and both starters. I removed the old ballasts and cut out the old starter wires. I followed the schematic on the block and connected the new ballast wires to the existing wires leading to the tombstones. The wiring order was slightly…

Easy repair at a good price.

One of my fluorescent lights was blinking but changing the bulb didn't fix the problem. Someone told me it was ballast and very easy to replace. Just take out the old one and get the same one. Well my flashlights were 10 years old and didn't do the same anymore. The colors and number of wires varied, but I was told this would do. I was concerned about how to wire it due to differences in ballasts but was told to just follow the wiring diagram on the ballast. It's very small and difficult to…

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • There are some quirks

The ballasts work great, are easy to install and are priced right!

I have several underbody fluorescent lights and 3 of them stopped working almost simultaneously. This is a mix of F8 and F13 T5 bulbs. I replaced the bulbs and found that the ballasts were defective. I spent hours searching the internet for a ballast rated for various combinations of F8 and F13 bulbs and finally settled on a Fulham sugar cube. I bought 1 to try and it was actually smaller than my originals, had lots of wires to connect to and fitted my light easily. The instructions are simple…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen
