Winch Monster: Exterior Accessories

My boat (2200 lbs) came in at a speed of 1400 lbs. factory winch. It was within spec for the boat's weight, but the strap-like harness seemed to snap with every use. I bought this and it turned in about 20 minutes including removing the old winch and putting the belt on the pulley. This winch doesn't struggle and seems to be running at almost full capacity. I haven't even used a low gear.

  • I have no bad feelings, everything is fine

Very good 2 speed winch

When I bought it I had my doubts, some reviews said it was cheaply made. I took a risk and bought it, I had no problems with either the optics or the installation. It was easy to install and appears to be very durable. I've used it about half a dozen times and it definitely makes a world of difference when you put the boat on a trailer. The two-speed action is smooth and makes a world of difference when you get the boat out of the water.

The bolt holes did not match the holes on my 25 year old trailer.

I thought the trailer winch mounting hole pattern (for 18-25 foot boats) was about the same. Not correct. I had to drill new holes in my trailer winch to line it up and it was PITA. Other than that it's a great winch and a huge improvement over the cheap model the trailer manufacturer put on the trailer. I really like the sleek look and hidden mechanisms as there is little chance of snagging anything inside.

This is a winch kit.

Be careful buyer this is a winch kit with micro sized instructions. First, the cable is not installed, it's ok, but you can't follow the instructions to install, they're just wrong. I have the two speed version. But there is no way to change the speed. The neutral position is important because you can unbuckle the strap to get to the boat. This is not a freewheel, the handle is always engaged. The mounting holes are hidden inside the winch, making it very difficult to mount on a trailer. Sorry…

Excellent wind! the best in towing and winching

After reading previous reviews of this item I wasn't sure if it would work, especially the one that mentioned it replaced a 1600 lb winch a 3200 pound winch. My boat weighs over 4500 pounds so a strong winch is required. After researching and interviewing a few trailer shop techs, I decided to order it. Since this winch has a short 'trailing edge' at the rear, my trailer shop ended up installing it as 2 new holes had to be drilled in the trailer's nose post to mount the 2 rear bolts. My trailer

Great upgrade. Starts my boat with no problems.

On our walk last week I discovered that my 22 year old Fulton winch had finally breathed her last. The crank gears were misaligned and it was very difficult to pull my boat to the bow stop. In fact, on the way home, I worried that he wouldn't be able to keep the boat from slipping back. I decided to do myself a favor and bought a replacement Fulton F2 (#3200) winch. After our walk today I am happy to say that the F2 winch is a very good upgrade. It has 2 speeds to wind up the webbing very…

Ultimate winch for winches

That thing is a hairpin. He's big and heavy and likes to pull boats down carpeted trails. I replaced the crappy winch that came with my trailer with this one and was disappointed I didn't do it the first day I got my boat. It pulls a heavy boat smoothly and with much less effort. The gearing is designed so you don't have to move the boat an inch past the nose stop to get to the next tooth. The handle is solid and the point where it attaches feels just as solid. It uses a common template so I…

False advertising. This isn't a 3200-pound winch. This is a 1600lb winch

I had a 2500lb winch on my boat trailer that was stuttering on my boat trailer. I bought this 3200lb Fulton F2 winch after reading all the fine print. It should have been more than I needed. When I received it and opened the box it said right on the side of the winch that it was only rated for 1600lbs with a full reel. My other winch has a manufacturer rating of 2500 pounds, full or empty spool. My old winch has a belt that's twice as thick because it's actually rated for 2500 pounds of pull…
