Pretty decent little headphone amp

I originally had a DIY tube amp. Well, that's to be expected from a cheap kit. Eventually something happened and this DIY kit stopped working in one ear. I could never understand what happened. Changed dachshund and bought this amp as a replacement. This little guy is great! I like that it not only has a volume control but also a slight EQ treble/bass control. I should have started with that. Take the time to customize it to your liking, it's worth it.

High expectations met total disappointment

I was excited to hear this little preamp after hearing so many good things about it. When I got mine I lit it and let it cook for a while. When I checked it I noticed that the chassis was very hot. Not enough to burn you, but it gets your attention very quickly if you accidentally touch it. I then plugged in the CD player and before I turned up the volume, I heard a clearly audible hum coming from the speakers. The demo is over and everything goes back to Revain. Lesson learned. Never buy cheap

Super cool stuff! There are 2 that can be played on different systems.

So my Seeburg Q100 rat was too far away to save, so now it's Bluetooth and a turntable. My ghetto blaster is on the porch lol. It sounded good, but lacked that old-school deep sound that you can only get with tubes. Given the price and good reviews, especially with the good old USA made bulbs, it really can come to life. Just a starting vacuum preamp. Static noise can be removed with an air conditioner.

It's like a great entry-level tube amp, but it's just a preamp and you can't drive passive headphones through the outputs. This is a passive preamp with stock 6K4 tubes replaced with 5654W tubes that make the amp sound better, with more separation and clarity. Please note that the amp comes with an incredibly short power supply. I had to replace it with a Yamaha Portatone Keyboard power supply that has the same voltage and polarity as the tube amp. I like FX-Audio Tube-03

My system: Preamp NAD C162, Acurus A250 Power, Klipsch R-610F After comparing with NAD I will use this one because it sounds a bit nicer. I would like to share my experience in the following way. I wanted more control for the high end and I'm happy with this 03 tube because it has more high end than the C162 (maybe it's because the C162 is old and not pumped up). Impressive little preamp!

First, I strongly recommend that anyone who buys this preamp spend the extra $15 to upgrade the tubes to GE 5640. If possible, get "Jan" tubes, a real upgrade , in my opinion. This is actually the second one I've bought and this one I'm pairing with a Nobsound 6P1 amp. This adds a little extra power to whatever amp you pair it with, and the bass and treble control is a great option. , too much of. My Home Theater Experience

Let's get down to business. Here are my current settings for using this FX audio element. iPhone 7+>FX Audio>AudioEngine 5+ (bamboo) along with a 10" Yamaha subwoofer. I mainly listen to hidf recordings using Quboz streaming. Now I'm both blessed and cursed with snobbish ears. Don't do it for me I can hear the difference.
