This appears to be a professional product. If the hairdresser shaves you during the haircut or shaves your neck, it calms him down and gives the person a light aroma of laurel rum. It contains some oil to protect the skin and alcohol to prevent infection. When you leave the hair salon and get in a car with other people, they won't be overwhelmed by the strong aftershave smell. This aftershave is as advertised. The scent is just right. It doesn't smell cheap or perfumed. The price corresponds to the quality. Don't let the large plastic bottle and price fool you. I recently learned that the price of a good cologne/aftershave has nothing to do with smell or quality. I have been importing and producing spices for over 40 years. Smells like pure clove oil. NOT Bay Run.i was looking for another bay rum very similar to the Lucky Tiger brand that has the true taste of bay rum but doesn't last more than a few seconds. I was hoping this was the answer, but it isn't. I'll probably throw it away, but I'm sure I won't use it. It would be better to call Clove, definitely NOT Bay Rum.

Update to my June 2019 review: This has become my favorite aftershave. I don't use anything other than Dickinson's witch hazel. I'm not even sure I'll be going back to Nivea if they fix the composition (as you can see from reviews from sites other than Revain). So far maybe 1/3 left on my first bottle. A few years ago I had a bottle of laurel rum that contained nothing but laurel oil, alcohol and maybe water. i loved things It smelled like cloves.
