Great boots but buy half an inch more

First of all the boots are fantastic quality and finish. I bought these to replace my outdated Bates Hot Weather Mountain Boots which were an RFI issue for Afghanistan deployments and suffered years of abuse. I usually waver between shoe sizes 8.5 and 9 and have decided on 8.5. It was a gamble because I live at an APO address abroad and Revain post can take 2-3 weeks so I hate sending a product back. The Garmont size 8.5 is on the small end of the 8.5 scale compared to my Bates display boots as

Not great for wet conditions but good boots otherwise!

These boots were instantly comfortable. They are well made, have a good grip and are very breathable. They gave me enough support to easily walk through the rocky alpine terrain with a 25kg backpack. My feet got a little wetter than I expected as I walked several miles through very tall vegetation densely covered with morning dew. However, treating the shoes with some form of waterproofing agent appears to have alleviated much of this problem. Overall I am satisfied with these sneakers and…

The best field boots money can buy!

Having always worn branded boots in my 9 years of service I have decided to join the other Joes and try the idle life. After reading many reviews I decided on this shoe. Everywhere he had the best reviews. My first impression: wow! These feel great. What have I missed? These aren't the lightest of boots, but unless you're an office jockey you need something with meat and ankle support. The laces are great and so is the tongue. The feed is great. You look great too. Some of the boots I see on…

Excellent grip, stability, off-road feel

I've bought a pair of Malestroms before. Wore them with two pairs of Merino wool socks, Dr. Schols, pulled them tight. They worked under very light conditions for about 6 months. A light duty is a mile-and-a-half hike through Florida State Parks about once or twice a week. Worn maybe 25 to 50 times. Well, the eyelets have started to separate from the upper, especially at the junction of the foot and ankle. I have decided that I need to upgrade. By any measure, these Garmont T8 Bifida are…

Great shoe, I recommend it to everyone.

These boots are amazing. As a soldier for the past 9 years these are definitely the grippiest boots I've worn (vs J Boots, Magnums, Meindls and Lowas). Tried to break these boots two days after receiving them with a 35kg 15km backpack Don't lose traction when climbing and descending steep hills or mud. I only stated once that I was actively trying to lose her. They are very comfortable and fit as expected with no hot spots. They got me using my calves and ankles more, but I've found them to…

Durable, comfortable and affordable boots.

Overall, these are the best boots I've worn in my military career. Incredibly durable and offers a great balance of comfort and support. Garrison or garrisoned, these boots have served me well. The only downside is that if they get wet they will take some time to dry, but obviously that doesn't matter much. Elite Survival delivered them exceptionally quickly. I barely waited two days to receive them with free standard shipping. Finally, the price beats EVERYTHING I've seen in stores near the…

Pressure points on the tongue but otherwise satisfied.

There are already tons of reviews on these boots so I'll just say I like these boots overall but my biggest downside is the tongue design. Other reviewers have mentioned this and I will support their opinion. The tongue design and the way it is sewn in places unnecessary pressure on the sides of the ankle at the front of the boot. If you tie them properly you will mostly soften it up, but it will still be noticeable from time to time. The only way to tighten the boot without friction points is…
