Works well looks high quality.

Bought because of a mistake and they said it was a lid. They wanted to charge me 100 for a cap. I didn't think it was a lid and didn't want to pay $100 for it. So I bought this and I was right. It wasn't a cap.

  • Weight

This is a gas cap but not OEM.

The plastic strap to attach to the car was not attached to the lid itself. Contacted them, basically told him "Jimmy gear up". Of course, he is not tied to a car. It might not matter much to some, but it's not OEM unless it's plugged into the cap.

The rubber pad on the caps is broken

I bought this gas cap because I was told that the gas cap is one of the reasons my car has a check engine light and a large EVAP leak DTC. The gas cap fits, but the rubber tab that holds it in place when unscrewing it broke as soon as I opened the box. I'll let you know later if the big EVAP leak code comes back or not.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for elderly

Identical to the new but poor quality!

Bad product. The reason I bought this item was because the small piece of rubber that runs from the gas cap to the car mount was broken on the original one I had on my car. Well, this rubber piece is even thinner than the original, so when you close the lid it compresses the rubber piece. Broke after 3 weeks.

Pros
  • Practical thing
Cons
  • Difficult to say

Perfect fit - caps

Perfect fit for our car. The check engine light came on and the dealer charged us about $3,000 for parts and labor to replace a part that "might" need replacing. My friend then recommended replacing the gas cap, saying that this usually causes the check engine light to come on. We replaced the cap with this one, filled up the car and after about 60 miles the light went out. $35 vs. $3,000 for a car repair!

Pros
  • Perfect fit for a small house
Cons
  • Some problems

Doesn't solve the engine light problem.

Don't waste your money on this product. To fix the P0244 MB 2008 C300 trouble code, you must first replace the gas cap and then disconnect the battery for 30 seconds. I did this and the light stayed on. My wife took the car to the dealership and after a $300 diagnostic test found out the problem was the gas cap (which I bought). They replaced the cap with an MB certified gas cap (priced at $42) and the code was cleared and the lights went out. So not only did I lose $25.78 on the gas cap, I…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
