Case fans whine at high frequency

I bought this fan to use on my Ender 3 v2 ducted Hero Me Gen 5 3D printer. It pushes a little more than a standard hot-end 4010 fan. In terms of noise, it is quieter but the pitch is slightly lower than the standard fan. It also adds more vibration to the hot end. So far, the fan has worked reliably for me over several weeks of almost constant typing.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not sure

Awesome update for Ender 3

I was afraid this would add noise to my printer but it happened the other way around. 5015 fans are almost three times louder than this fan. With my mini ek3 board I only hear the fans running when printing. My overhangs have definitely improved somewhat with the addition of this fan. The upgrade is definitely worth it!

Nice upgrade for your 3D printer.

The hot end fan on my 3D printer has failed and I wanted to upgrade it (my printer uses the same fan for both the hot end and part cooling, so more airflow is always better) and i took one of them. Actually there is not much to say. It fit in the same place (although it's a lot thicker than a "regular" 40mm fan so it may not work with some printers), worked when I plugged it in, and while it's a bit noisy it moves Much more. Air. The only real complaint was that I wish the wires were longer. It

Great airflow and WOW quiet!

Bought 2 of these for my Artillery Sidewinder X1 printers to improve hot end airflow. The unexpected result was how softly they whispered. Can't recommend them enough. I needed longer screws, but that's to be expected and the fans come with mounting hardware for other applications.

Super weird sound

This one is back. I suspect something is wrong with him. When switched on, a very unpleasant hum can be heard. no "Where's that little whining coming from?", any noise, more like "Oh, that fan is absolutely wrong." Interestingly, the pitch keeps rising for at least 30 seconds after it's turned on, which is why it's taking so long until full speed is reached. I don't know if that's a "design feature" or a manufacturing defect, but either way it's too loud.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Quieter, but the remaining noise is high-pitched and annoying

I replaced the stock fan on my Ender 3 Pro 3D printer with this one. It makes less noise, but the sound it REALLY makes is an annoying high-pitched squeak. If you run it at less than 100% speed it makes an EXTRA whine, almost like a low speed signal or something. I would return it but since it already has a connector on the end and the cable isn't long enough to reach the processor I had to cut it off.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • So-so

Damn good fan: Fan and cooling

For this amount of air, this fan is very quiet. Of course you can hear it, but it's not bad. Cooling is very good. I use it on my Artillery Sidewinder X1 with BMG Wind Extruder. A very good combo.

Quiet and seems to let in a lot of air

Not as quiet as a well known brand like Noctua but seems to let in more air. Now I have 3 of these on my hotend, 1 for the hotend itself, 2 for the partial cooling. I wish the fans were on ball bearings rather than sleeve bearings, but cheap enough not to be a problem.
