Insurance companies love people who don't use something like this.

Easy installation and setup of my under cabinet lighting. People will tell you that you don't need it. Yes you can install the closet lights without them by just plugging them in directly BUT if your house burns down and it's discovered that your lights weren't connected to something like that and your wiring was the culprit I'm not sure how your insurance will do it answers. Just do the right thing, not the cheap stuff.

Lamps flicker chaotically

I like that the wiring on the lamps is neat and tidy. However, for some reason, the lights flash randomly every few minutes. I have four lights each wired to one of the four GE 39971 and all lights flicker but randomly so it's not a circuit issue as they are all wired to the same dimmer. The dimmer is a Leviton Decora Smart Dimmer controlled by Apple HomeKit. What happens is that the flicker has no pattern.

Find out more good for wall lights

This box supports direct connection of most or all of today's GE lights under cabinets, although information on this product is almost impossible to find! Other GE lights list which products in the range are compatible with them. There are no pictures of connectors that this box offers, so I've added one. Even some of the images on the product packaging do not match the actual product. The knockouts on the box are smaller than the standard 1/2" knockouts and the included strain relief appears…

  • Always loved

  • Big and bulky

Provides a nice clean install but the wire nuts are too small

I converted an old direct wire fluorescent tube to the new GE Embrighten LED backlight. These boxes are basically junction boxes and you make the connections inside with wire nuts. The installation guide lists one LED connector per box, but the boxes I received had two connectors. The connection cable for the lighting fits into one plug and nothing that comes with the lighting fits into the other, I don't know what that is for. If you have a solid #14 Romex coming out of the wall and attaching…

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • is embarrassing

I saw this first and thought it was a silicon printed circuit board with capacitors and resistors as its size matches the size of the AC power supply. Power supply but no. If they sold it with a fish switch it might be worth buying, but in my case I already have a 14 foot male to female jumper with a 3 pin snap on one end and a 2 pin snap on one end designed on the other, so on. When I opened this box and died a bit in it, I used mine. I think GE did some misleading marketing here by calling it

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Poor set

This is a $10 junction box with parts missing

Great for 14 GA connection. Wire allows for a flat connection under the cabinet. but that's all. The opening in the box and the size of the strain relief will only fit a single 14/2 wire. So if you want to daisy chain multiple junction boxes, you can't just tie their wires together (i.e. opposite the fridge side). You must plan accordingly. This would require some sort of wiring to another conventional junction box whose power is controlled by a wall switch. Speaking of cables, because that's…

  • Great choice
