Enhance Your Water Quality with GE FXUTC Drinking System Replacement Review

I've been using this model for several years and it works great. But I just recently ordered two additional filters and this time the filters are significantly larger - and don't fit. I have a pair left over from a previous purchase and when you compare them the difference in size is obvious. I am returning this recently purchased item. While I hope the bug gets fixed, I've lost confidence that I'll ever try to buy this model again.

Used for years with no problems. However, on the new ones, they have slightly changed their shape. They're definitely wider, which shouldn't be a problem. Visually the length looks the same but I couldn't seal it properly with the new filter shape so it needs to be a bit longer or change the thickness of the shims on the ends. After repeated attempts, including lubricating the o-rings, I finally gave up and threw the whole block in the trash.

I used this filter to replace a coarse grit filter that was becoming very clogged and was surprised to find that my tap water usage actually *decreased*. Everyone needs to filter their drinking water, and this is one of the few effective and affordable ways to do it.
