This unit failed approximately 40 days after shipment. It was plugged into an outlet in our hallway. Night light failed. Part of the flashlight still works, but we needed the night light feature more than a rechargeable flashlight. Part of the flashlight isn't very bright either. Revain didn't allow me to do a warranty return or exchange. This is a GE product. I cannot recommend this device.

The light sensor is not strong enough because on a cloudy day the light is on and even on a sunny day in the morning it does not go out for a long time. I have to turn it on and off every day which defeats the purpose of a night light. Also, it occupies both outlets, so I have to unplug it if I want to use a different outlet. The pros are that it's beautiful, bright and works. A nice feature is that you can turn it off and work like a flashlight, otherwise it would get fewer stars.

Blocks 1 of 2 outlets because the plug sits right in the middle of the light, not at the end like many (if not all) other emergency lights I've seen. I have 2 other types of emergency flashlights and this one works best as a night light. But even special night lights only occupy one of the two sockets on the panel. What's up with that, GE? I used to have 2 of these night lights and they lasted about 10 years each. This flashlight has been out of order since I plugged it in. It's not plugged into an outlet, so power comes in and out and it gets quite hot while charging (leading me to believe it's a fire hazard). This covers up to two outlets, making the plug unusable for other devices. It's just lazy design. I was expecting four modes but I didn't read carefully and the mode I wanted the most is missing. We have been using one of these GE lights 24/7 for the past 4-5 years. It stays connected in the same place unless we need to use flashlight mode. It works well as a flashlight and helps a lot in staying lit and clearly visible during a power outage.
