A poorly described product can easily be confused with other non-m2 sata products. There are about 5 types of SATA keys for connection. It will show for m2 2280 sata if it is not. Other manufacturers add a list of 5, a green tick for what it is and a red X for what it isn't. The label on the box should be the same.

What a great board for computers and accessories

I followed the instructions to install this board on RPi 4B and had no problem installing the m2 mSATA drive. Installing and starting the server took much longer due to my lack of knowledge of Linux, bcache and netatalk. This RPi now acts as a multi-user time machine server with an mSATA drive acting as a fast SSD cache and a larger 2.5" spinning hard drive bus-powered and the stores most of the data. To power the spinning drive I used a dual USB Y-type power harness that connects the drive to…

The board works with a 1 TB mSATA SSD

This is for the ETH2 validator. (Yes, life is at stake.) I've tried this with a Zheino SSD with no luck (probably too cheap). Dogfish 1TB works fine. I've had success using the Geekworm X850 for a tiny Raspberry Pi bitcoin node that's been running for over 1 year, so I wanted to try it for ETH2 as well. The photos already have an X857 in a geekworm case, but the second shows the USB3.1 connector going from the X857 to the Pi. Screenshot of Grafana with Prometheus for advanced device monitoring…

    2.4GHz WiFi Interference

I can confirm that I am experiencing the 2.4GHz interference issue mentioned in the docs. Even though the HDD works fine and I booted my Pi from the SSD after 2 days of work, it doesn't connect to WiFi. This also affects my wireless mouse adapter. There is no protection around the small U-shaped Geekworm USB adapter. The same Msata drive doesn't interfere if it's in another company's adapter, so it's not a Pi issue. Geekworm needs to develop this product better to be better shielded. Also, I…

Worked great for 3 days then stopped working

Perfect for Raspberry Pi 4 with hardware included. I installed it in a 3D printed case along with a Pi 4 and a Geekworm ice tower. I was setting up OpenMediaVault and Home Assistant in a container when I noticed that interacting with the Pi was getting slower and loading times were getting longer. Suddenly the disc fell out and could not be found. I connected the USB cable from the adapter to my PC, but it wasn't found there either. I switched to another mSATA drive but got nothing. I connected

Doesn't work with Raspberry Pi 4B

I bought the X857 because I thought I could build a small computer with a Pi and have more/faster memory. I was wrong. Mechanically it connects fine to the Raspberry Pi, but the Pi never sees the connected mSATA drive. The X857 powered on, the 3.3V red LED came on, then the blue SSD LED came on. Then the SSD light started blinking and went off after a few seconds. Either GeekWorm's tests are bad or the quality control is poor as I received a faulty device. I tested my mSATA drive and it works…
