All good until Wi-Fi goes down

Like other 1 star reviews, it worked until it disconnected from Wi-Fi during power outages and kept turning off. My TV, Hue Light Bridge, and other essential devices were plugged in, and yet they randomly disconnected when he decided to take a break — not a fun way to spend the day restarting his smarter devices. DO NOT BUY! Not to mention the app is very stripped down, setting up an account let alone connecting to your wifi makes this a really bad buy.

Pros
  • High score for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Do not buy! for surge protector

Features two USB ports for charging. I connected two USB cables to charge two small battery packs, which I usually charge either through a computer USB port or through a USB adapter on an extension cord. USB cables and batteries no longer work. I've checked all the previous ways I charge batteries and they no longer charge. The connectors worked fine initially, but now I suspect a port has failed. I had this extension for 36 hours when all of this happened. Really bad quality. I lost two…

READ BEFORE BUYING

Good smart 6 port switch but not the best. On the plus side you can control each port separately or together with the app or Alexa, each port can be given a name and the device, Alexa, will read those settings from the app. very responsive and the WiFi setup is really easy, NOT that good: even if you can schedule (turn on/off) each individual port, the schedule is VERY unreliable, sometimes doesn't match the schedule's turn on or off settings, making the schedule virtually unusable for use…

Doesn't even work as an extra outlet.

Stopped! 4 days after the return period had expired, it just stopped working. I have Wink and Geeni products so I customized the experience. Worked well for 2 weeks. One day it won't connect to the internet, everything else works, but this band just stopped using it as an outlet. There is no setting option, just check the wifi in the app. It is very frustrating that geeni was put on hold and then the call was dropped. I hate to think that they go the nest route and reduce the quality, I would…

6 Outlets with Wi-Fi Control

I love the Wi-Fi splitters and this is the first one I've seen with 6 outlets. It is planned to use this when assembling the aquarium. I have a pair of 4 outlets that also have USB ports. Currently testing this in my saltwater pico aquarium. And note that sockets need to be further apart for those bulky converter plugs. And that some USB plugs would be nice. Although if I put this on top of the tank I'm building, the USB isn't needed. Although I love that I can turn the sanctuary light on and…

Don't use the schedule for something important!

The scheduling part of the software is unreliable, I'm not sure why it's crashing but I suspect your phone needs to be connected to your home network or at least a cellular network at all times for the schedule to run target. I was growing medical marijuana and going camping where we had no signal, my Geeni Smart Extender decided to ignore my schedule and turn on the lights 24 hours a day, 7 days a week while I was away resulting in my Plants burned out and caused me a lot of trouble…

Attention buyers, look for another brand.

Ribbon defective within a few months of purchase, still under warranty. The problem was that the light that should blink to connect the device didn't blink or reset. After 3 months and numerous emails to customer service, they confirmed it was faulty and sent a replacement. I had the same problem when replacing it, out of the box. The blinking blue light never activated. So now I have 2 lanes that don't connect and are useless. I also have 3 separate plugs that no longer work. I will never…

Don't use the schedule for something important!

The software plan is unreliable, not sure why it doesn't work but I suspect your phone must be connected to the home network smallest cellular network, anytime when the schedule needs to run. I was growing medical marijuana and going camping where we had no signal, my Geeni Smart Extender decided to ignore my schedule and turn on the lights 24 hours a day, 7 days a week while I was away resulting in my Plants burned out and caused me a lot of trouble, potentially ruining several months of work…

Worked great for a while

This was our second surge protector. Setup was easy and the ability to control/schedule each individual outlet was great. On this strip was our aquarium - a filter, bubbler, light, heater and fan for our audio/video cabinet. The first one started randomly turning off outlets, so we swapped it out. The second seemed to work fine, but when we left town for a week it just didn't show up in my app. The whole strip turned out to be dead (the aquarium was super green but the feeder was battery…
