I work in a production environment that uses flexible materials and even other direct drive extruders can't even keep up. I've been so disappointed by this hot end for a long time. In general, this is an excellent system, but the disadvantages are too great. To sum it up in one sentence: it's overly finicky, unreliable and has disappointing support from E3D. Three of these stand out: 1) square nuts, which can easily break if over-tightened, which can completely destroy the motor housing, 2) the total lack of professionally designed covers and fasteners from E3D, and 3) the use of ridiculously flimsy thermal ones…
