Description of π 15ft 8mm Extension Cable - Enhance Your Yeti, Boulder, and Nomad Products with Goal Zero
Extension cord for Goal Zero Yeti, boulder and Nomadic connections. Not compatible with boulder 200 briefcase Solar panel. 8mm input - Goal Zero proprietary connection. 8mm output Connection. Cord length: 15Ft. Gauge: 16 gauge.
Serves its purpose. The only improvement I would recommend would be something that ties the two ends together a little more securely. From time to time I tripped or hit the cord and the connector came loose. I think I'll put two pieces of velcro on each end and then just attach them in a way that protects them from that (especially if they're connected to a roof panel!)
I recently bought a 100 watt Nomad solar panel for my Yeti 400. The attachment cable was so short that the Yeti had to be placed right next to it. or below. This cable allows me to place the Yeti in a more secure location. Just a note on DC, it loses performance pretty quickly with distance (why don't we have cities that supply DC) so just buy the cable length. What do you need.
I bought these for my bouldering boards and they work great. Not sure how much you'll lose to wastage, but always keep short runs and DC connections. When you plug it into the 8mm Goal Zero cable and squeeze hard, it clicks loudly and it's a very firm, waterproof connection that's impressive. It can be very difficult to pull them apart again without a great deal of effort, so don't do this often.
available I bought this to increase the range of my Jackery Solar 100w panel as the cable that came with it is only 6ft long. Out of the box this didn't work as the cable connector has a long protective plastic sleeve that prevents it from making a solid connection to the 8mm jackety cable. I used a dremel to cut the plastic sleeve to allow thejackery cable connector to fit properly. Worked great. I was expecting to see some loss in solar panel output power with the addition of an additional 15
