I bought this for my 3 cats and the only downside is the door doesn't open. Once the cat goes in or out the door stays open which is a shame because my neighbor's cat will come in as there is an 'open hole' if we don't go after the cat and close it it will stay open. The whole reason for this cat door was so I didn't have to open and close the door when they wanted in or out.

This is the third door I have bought so there are other brands to compare. The first two doors were broken down because another animal came in and they end up breaking down the door as they try to escape. But this time my own cats can easily kick him out and run away when I don't want to. I think this plastic door is too soft, so my cats understand that if they can push harder from a corner, they can always do it. I use a camera, record it so I know how they did it every time.

I installed this door panel on a standard 1-3/4" thick kitchen to garage door. The 1" mounting screws that came with were too short so I temporarily used 2-1/2" -Used thin sheet metal screws.Hopefully I can get some long thin mounting screws to fit the holes on either side.The hole cut is too big, it could have been about an inch smaller, in which case I could just straight both sides of the sash frame attach to the door panel.I should have known better than to just blindly follow the…

First, the assembly instructions for this door were inadequate. A template should have been provided, or at least instructions on how to create a template. We put this on the door of our laundry room as that is where the litter box and food are. The product works quite well. I was just tired of making sure the bedroom door was ajar for the cat to come out, eat and use the litter box, so I cut a hole in the inner bedroom door. For that purpose, this product is fantastic. BUT: The instructions are pretty terrible. It doesn't realize that you need to drill a "pilot hole" so you can even put the saw blade through to cut.
