The shower arm is only 4 1/2 years old but for some reason it has stopped mixing hot and cold. This block fixed the problem and is pretty easy to install. Be sure to turn off the water first and make sure the O-ring is properly seated when inserting the device. Mine must have slipped out of the groove during installation so there was a slight leak and it had to be reinstalled.

I went to the Kohler Design Store to look for this part but they didn't have it and they told me they could order it and it would be delivered in about three weeks Also, I had to order both the mixer and PDU for a total of $89 plus shipping. This? No shipping, arrived NEXT DAY, and is less than $30. And it was a walk in part to install and it works fine. Also, they provide all kinds of o-rings in case your situation is a bit different. Two years ago I replaced my old shower faucet with an 800820 PBU/77759 end cap. The shower was leaking and had temperature issues and that fixed everything.
