What a GREAT concept. Do 3 steps in one! However, I ordered the replacement bits 3 times because they keep breaking. I'm not sure what the phrase "keep buying a bad product" says about me, but I was so intrigued by the time-saving feature (if they don't break) that I keep buying them. Jim
I used an M5 tap on the ends of 4 OpenBuilds extruded aluminum V-grooves with some saw wax to smooth them out and all 8 ends came out perfectly cut. I have 16 left, but it looks like that won't be a problem with this tool. I really like that the drilled part makes alignment very easy as the parts already have the correct size pre-drilled holes.
These bits worked great, for 3 holes I was able to cut the metal plate before the M5 bit snapped on the 4th holes. I even used carving oil and moved slowly to prevent this from happening. I then had to cut some M4 holes and the M4 bit snapped into the 3rd hole. They're listed as metal bits, but I don't think they're good for hard metal, based on my experience with two bits snapping into metal that quickly. I've used the M3 size slightly larger in aluminum with no problems so far. There are 10β¦
