Some modifications may be required for operation.

I am a carpenter and am fed up with using cheap and/or broken scribers. I figured I'd spend a few bucks more and buy a nicer pair. At first glance they seemed a bit coarse in quality, but durable. I put them in my tool bag and looked forward to using them. When I tried to make a small stroke on the cabinet filler, I found that the pointer leg didn't close tight enough to touch the tip of the pencil. When the scribes were fully closed, about 5/16 inch actually remained. I couldn't use them…

Pros
  • Attractive black powder coat finish
Cons
  • Damaged

The pins holding the pen holder are pushed too far into the ring to accommodate round pins. They should have been pressed flatter or this piece welded on the outside. The curved part doesn't really match the arc of the tool hole as can be seen in the two pictures with the set screws removed. Both set screws were coated with grease and metal shavings. The photo I…

Pros
  • Made from heavy plate
Cons
  • I don't remember
