People who can't get them to work right aren't doing it right.

Works just as perfectly as shown on TV. If there are any complaints about this product, it's only because they didn't follow the instructions. You need to use a heat gun and give the solder enough time to melt and it works perfectly.

Pros
  • One-year trial
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Looks best in industrial electrics

Two blue size connections made. As long as you have a good heat source, they work great. The solder melts quickly and easily and long before the heat shrink tubing begins to smoke. The seals appear to be working. Neither of them have joined the weather, but I see no reason why they shouldn't be doing well.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Good but not great

Great idea but they don't work

I bought these a few months ago and have tried to use them several times. The problem is that the plastic pipe melts and starts to burn before the solder melts. I used a heat gun, soldering iron and small butane torch to find the right temperature to melt the solder ring and leave the plastic tube still insulating. I went back to soldering and heat shrink tubing.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

I thought I'd try.

I upgraded Ambulance and almost all connections are soldered and heat shrinkable. I gave it 3 stars because of the amount of heat it takes to actually melt the solder ring inside. The required amount will inflate the heat shrink tubing itself. It is easy to use for horizontal work. For vertical work you need another pair of hands. I like the water resistance it has.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • So-so

These great things

It takes experience to figure out the best way to heat them up and not overheat them, but once you get the hang of them these little guys are real gems. . No more tinned wires! The only problem is that the smaller reds/whites tend to curl in the center when heated if you're not careful, and they can burn you if you get too close to the heat gun. I have used them for outdoor LED lighting and they save a lot of time compared to soldering.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Protection

I like the easy wiring and connector

Full disclosure: I am in no way an electrician. Just a guy who needs to connect a few wires sometimes. Let's face it - soldering sucks. You have to hold the two wires together, hold the soldering iron in one hand and the solder in the other... You get the idea. With them, you just stick a wire into each end and heat everything up with a heat gun. Or, heck, even the wife's hair dryer! Boom! Did. I changed the low beam on my Harley and had to cut off the connector and connect the wires. Terrible…

Pros
  • Industrial Electric
Cons
  • Out of fashion

They seem to be working great so far!

I only used a blue connection on wire #14 and a HarborFreightUSA heat gun several years old. Taking advice from the previous user's comments, I first heated the ends of the splice to shrink it just enough to grab the wire and keep the splice centered. I then focused on the middle and watched in amazement as the low temperature solder fell onto the bare copper wires, sucked up and spread over the bare wires. I then proceeded to a full bake to remove the glue/sealant from the colored sections and

Love them at Industrial Electrical

I work as a mechanic to make a living. In the Midwest, I walk past many cars with wires gnawed by squirrels. I use these connectors and a small butane torch to melt and shrink the solder to connect these bundles together. I bought the first pack out of curiosity, it was the second pack, I think I will use many of these in the future. I do this by stripping both ends of the wires about 3/8 inch or so, I slide the connector on one of the wires just enough so that it's out of the way, I overlap…
