Update: My third one just stopped working after 7 months of intermittent use. The knife's upper blade was still spinning, but the lower wheel was still - and this resulted in the entire rim of the can being littered with metal splinters. Two of them cut my fingers. I like this product. It worked fine for about nine months or so. Then I got ugly metal shavings in the can opener itself and also on the edges of the can. The edges were no longer smooth, but they were sharp enough to cut you or get metal shavings in your fingers or, worse, in your food. As a craftsman and thinker, I disassembled the can opener separately from the back (I think you'll need a long thin Phillips screwdriver) and removed any metal shavings I could see. So here's what's good and what's not so good about this can opener. Good stuff. Cosmetically appealing. It makes a robust and well-made impression. Cut cans open very quietly and cleanly. It cuts off the entire top so there are no sharp edges to cut your hands on.
