Hamilton Safety Collar Bell Pink Review

I'm sure this works well for most cats, but not mine. He's small, but maybe he's still big. The problem is that he can get his lower jaw and teeth stuck under that collar and then get stuck until someone notices. Between that and two other collars he can take off in under a minute, I don't think I'll ever get him to wear his ID tags properly.

I really like these collars because my cat can't take them off and they still have the much needed quick release buckle. I bought several collars from pet stores and found that my cat managed to undo the clasps. This particular collar is similar to those I used to be able to get locally. I also remove the bell but they are durable. The cat cannot undo the buckle, unlike the plastic clasps on most collars. Good product.

This is a very good collar for the money but I received this collar on 9th October 2014 and today less than 3 weeks later the security strap broke. Luckily I'm very familiar with this type of collar, so I took a black hair band and fastened it. My cat is 7 months old, weighs 11.5 kg and is very active. This collar is well made except for the thin elastic safety trigger guard. I would definitely buy the same item again, but I would change the flimsy elastic before putting it on my cat.

Agree with any of the other reviews on here. Not very big for a large adult cat. Now it works fine for me because I have a kitten. I will say that the color of the picture here on Amazon is not very accurate. The item I received has the collar in the same color as the bell, while in the picture the collar is a little darker and not as turquoise as the bell. Well done but nothing special. I wouldn't say it's "well made," but it should last a few years if your cat doesn't outgrow it.

We bought three of these collars and when they arrived we put them on our three cats. A few hours later we noticed that one of the cats was missing a collar. The next morning, two cats had no collars. On the third day all the collars were gone. We understand how collars work and put them on correctly. I'm assuming the "peel off" safety feature is also just designed that way. Well it sure is. We expected to lose them eventually but not all within 3 days. I wouldn't buy them again.

Although the woven collar looks durable, it won't last more than 6 months. The fabric loosens and begins to pill, the protective elastic band wears out and eventually breaks, and the overall color of the collar and bell wears out. I don't see the collar as a safety hazard for my cat and am selling it at a good price for a collar that will last 6 months but I would rather have a better quality collar. Overall I will still buy this product but will look for a better quality product. Overall: 2/5…

I was expecting more security than the narrow cord-like elastic that connects the two pieces behind the collar so the cat can slip out of the collar if something is out is catches it. I took a chance and hoped there was more to the collar than the blurry photo showed and was disappointed to see that although it was nylon it was identical to the leather collar that nearly choked my cat .
